Print, photographic, 9 1/2" w x 7 1/2" h, black and white, two-sided, Side 1- three men standing outside under a tent tying balloons. Side 2- Five people, four males, one female, standing under a tent, looking at table with money on it. The annual Bartlett Volunteer Firemen's Festival, which ran from 1938-1969, was a much anticipated and well attended August weekend event in Bartlett Park. The fundraiser for the department included carnival rides, bands, food, bingo and other games of chance. Side1- left to right, Scoutmaster William "Bill" Jervey, then Asst. Scoutmaster Melbourne "Mel" Atchison and unknown tie balloons for the troop to sell to rise funds.Side 2- Volunteer Fireman Lawrence "Putz" Schultz, second from left, runs this gambling game. All others are unknown. Note the Ferris wheel in the background. |
