Description |
Image, digital, black & white, Front- woman sitting on porch, taking nap. Serena Jensen takes a quick cat nap from her duties of being the owner of the Bartlett Tavern. She is catching her winks on the tavern's back entrance on the west side. The Jensens owned the tavern from 1942 to 1969. The tavern's location, 113 W. Railroad Avenue, hours of operation, and the living quarters in the rear, made it a perfect place for the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department's fire phone.Serena answered the calls and blew the siren which summoned the volunteers to the nearby Fire Barn. She would always have hot coffee and food waiting when they returned from a call. |
