Print, photographic, 4" l x 6" w, black and white, Front- two women wearing dresses stand in front of a parade float, Back- blank. The Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department's annual festival ran from 1938 to 1969. It was held in Bartlett Park over a weekend in August. In 1962, to celebrate the festival's 25th year, a parade was added. Floats were made by businesses, civic groups and others. The float behind represents the volunteers. Marlene Rosenwinkel Palmer, whose father Harvey served as chief from 1953-1960, is on the left. Linda Vlasak, whose father Walter was a volunteer, is on the right. |
