Book, 9 1/2" l x 6" w x 1 1/2" h, On December 30, 1903, the deadliest theater fire in United States history occurred at Chicago's Iroquois Theater billed as being "Absolutely Fireproof." The theater was packed, with standing room only, for a performance of "Mr. Blue Bead." This book details the horror of the event using the survivors and rescuers words along with illustrations and images. A list of those that perished is included. The Bartlett family lost two of their own, daughter Elma Bartlett Adamek and daughter-in-law Emma Bartlett. Page 356 lists the number dead by city and state. Two is shown for Bartlett, IL. |
