The Schick General Store ledger records the sales made to customers by date. The ledger lists purchaser's name, what was bought and the amount of the sale. The sale totals are listed in the middle column. The ledger also lists the company's that Fred Schick Sr. purchased items from to sell in his store. The company's are listed by name, the date of his purchase, what was bought and the amount of his purchase. The sale totals are listed in the far right column. The transactions begin on page 1 which is dated July 13, 1901 and continues by date, indicated with a red date stamp, to page 565 which is dated April 13, 1903. The Schick General Store was once located in the home of Fred Schick Sr. It also housed a post office with Schick serving as postmaster. The store was opened in 1900 or 1901. The Schick home is located on Schick Road and today is the parsonage for the Poplar Creek Church. |
