Letter, digital, one double sided page, only have first page, dated Wednesday, February 27, 1952, addressed to Myrt, Joe & Bonnie, written by Eugene "Gene" Haase from the ship he was stationed on, the U.S.S.Pine Island (AV-12) during his service in the Korean War. He used ship's stationary from his former ship the Salisbury Sound. Gene writes his sister, Myrtle Haase Kunos, his brother-in-law Joe Kunos and niece Bonnie Kunos, about his transfer from the Salisbury Sound to the USS Pine Island (AV-12). The radio watch sections are different on this new ship. With men being discharged the watches will be short handed of men. Haase served from June 26, 1951-October 30, 1952. Prior he served in WW II. |
